Rest in peace Polar Bear God
Buncha things have happened... chiefly at the moment is that Polar Bear God has just passed away
It is rather sad and I admire his work alot, and reading his articles made me sad as well for he really loved the game though he was in financial difficulty.
Its not just magic of course, in almost every hobby you will have some who just equip up to speed and those that are truely passionate about and will scrimp and save and work to get a decent set together.
I unfortunately or not belong in the first category, for me I have enough to spurge on magic. But for PBG he really has a passion for it and scrimped to make his decks.
Sure magic is a luxury. And there is no good reason to throw your money at it (if you want to throw money and still get a good return i recommend investments =))
But still like in chess or photography, you get people who are truely dedicated to the activity. I am not one of those. But Richie is.
He was'nt just all about magic of course, for a person with his talent his is humble and unassuming. And his artwork (using sharpies) is fantastic. It is a pity that he did not really go full scale into art (though he loved art).
You will be missed.

In other news...
Its crazy of course.....
after all those boxes i still lack
1 Grim Poppet
1 Order of Whiteclay
1 Enchanted Evening
2 Puppeteer Clique
1 Sunken Ruins
1 Oracle of Nectars
3 Impromptu Raid
Who woulda thought.....
Recently I have come to decide that I should start saving.
I would still like to collect/play MTG but i will probably cut down. By how much (of if I actually do) I do not know.
For instance I am unlikely to go on a 14 box + packs + Fatpack + pre cons binge anytime soon. =)
More likely I will go the 6 box, and fill in the blanks route. Ironically and painfully, this is when WOTC decides to introduce chase cards. *sighz*
Still there are many things to be happy about and magic is'nt everything =)
