The deck was actually designed by Ken Ishimaru, who finished in the Top 8 of the Japanese Nationals with his creation, posting a 6-3-1 Standard record overall. The goal of the deck is to accelerate into a turn 2 Hypnotic Specter or Ohran Viper with the help of Birds of Paradise and Llanowar Elves. When this deck wins the die roll and gets out a turn 2 Specter or Viper, a control deck will have basically lost right there. Counterspells can't touch it yet and a Wrath of God is too slow. That is the main strength of the deck.
